Pantheon partner Easytech Green rebuilt the flagship institutional website for the Universidad de San Andrés in Argentina, moving off legacy Drupal 7 infrastructure to a modern decoupled stack: Drupal for the backend and Next.js for the frontend, all on Pantheon.

The payoff was an accessible, mobile-first experience, faster and more flexible content creation, and an easier hiring pool — frontend developers work in JavaScript and React and “just need to be able to call APIs,” without Drupal experience. Co-founder and CEO Lucas Mingarro called pairing Drupal with a modern frontend “the best of both worlds,” noting that consolidating WebOps on one platform — Terminus, Upstreams, and Multidev — kept everything integrated.

His advice for teams starting out: “Your first decoupled project might be a little bit more complicated to get started… Don't get discouraged.”
